General Advisory Council (GAC)

The GAC is the service body where CPA meetings have a voice and a vote regarding any and all CPA business. The GAC is delegated by the World Service Conference (WSC) to make administrative decisions required in the interim of the WSC meeting. GAC Representatives (GR) from each registered meeting are encouraged to bring topics and concerns from their home meeting to the GAC for guidance and support. The GSVO staff give reports and participate in the meetings, however the business and concerns of the GRs are prioritized over reporting.

Group Representative (GR): This is the major line of communication between the individual group and the GAC. Each CPA group elects a GR to represent them. This allows a continuous chain of communication in the fellowship. A group without a GR denies its members a voice and causes a break in the link of communication. The GR attends the GAC meetings and should have an understanding of the Twelve Traditions and how they work. The GR brings their group’s viewpoint to any situation concerning CPA and informs their group of any decisions.

Unity Committee Mission Statement

The Unity Committee supports the fellowship of CPA by offering creative ways to promote harmony in our fellowship. Whether discord may be between members, groups or service bodies, the Unity Committee will challenge itself to find unanimity by workshopping suggestions for interested parties. It will do this while attempting to avoid any change in “guidelines” or “procedures” already established.

While the Unity Committee is not a governing body it will utilize CPA literature and the current service structure to respectfully suggest unifying answers for opposing perspectives. This is done with the care, compassion and strength guided by the Higher Power of its members. While we can’t promise to suggest a resolution that will work for all, we do offer the committee as an impartial third entity.
